JERSEY CITY, NJ–After a short break, the Saint Peter's cross country team is set to compete at Lehigh's 51st Annual Paul Short Run, presented by ASICS, on Friday, October 3. The event will take place at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, PA, starting with the first race at 9:30 a.m. The men's team, along with women's runner
Shirleysa Rivas, will represent the Peacocks.
At their last outing, Manhattan's Jasper Invite, freshman
Earl Hart paced the men with a top-100 finish, placing 53rd overall out of 179 runners in 26:25.7.
Nicholaus Michael also showed significant improvement, shaving over two minutes off his personal best in the 8K with a final time of 28:38.3.
On the women's side, Rivas continues to make strides, clocking a personal-best 24:48.8 in the 6K at the Jasper Invite, trimming more than two minutes from her previous time. She'll be joined later this month by an expanded roster, as
Mercedes Cruz-Fletcher, Dezoara Diaz, Stephanie Macareno, Chloe Montgomery, Angela Owusu-Ansah, and
Omaria Serrano make their Peacock debuts. Returning to the lineup are junior
Luisana Flores and seniors
Karilynn Jimenez and
Shanelle Vilson.
The women's cross country team is slated to make its season debut at home on Wednesday, October 8, at the Peacock Invitational at Jaroschak Field in Lincoln Park.
