Cross Country Runs at Manhattan's Jasper Invite

MONTGOMERY, N.Y.--The Saint Peter's cross country team traveled up to Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y., for Manhattan's home opener race, the Jasper Invite, Saturday morning. 

Freshman Earl Hart was the highest-placed Peacock in the men's 8k. Hart finished in the top 100 of 179 runners, crossing the finish line in 26:25.7, 53rd overall. The next Peacock to cross the finish line was sophomore Nicholaus Micheal with a time of 28:38.3, 144th overall. Not far behind him was rookie Jack Cabrera (29:07.3), sophomore Johan Aparicio (30:00.6), freshman Christopher Hernandez (30:59.1), and rounding it out for Saint Peter's was sophomore Kenneth Montes (33:22.8).

Siena secured two of the top three finishes of the race, with junior Jackson Cayward crossing the line first with a time of 24:33.2. Junior Tyler Green hit a personal record in the race with a time of 24:41.8, finishing third. Bucknell senior Henry DIdden secured second in 24:40.8.

Overall, Bucknell secured first with a team score of 32, with Siena claiming second with 44 points. Rounding out the podium was Fordham with a score of 107.

Shirleysa Rivas competed in the women's 6k, finishing the race in 24:48.8.

Bucknell sophomore Shaelan McNally shaved more than a minute from her previous time, finishing first in 20:08.8. Behind her was Quinnipiac senior Sierra Gray, who also pr'd with a time of 20:26.8. Rounding out the podium was Fairfield sophomore Hannah Snayd, also reaching a personal best with a time of 20:29.8.

Quinnipiac overall secured first in the race, with a team score of 36. Bucknell took home second with a total of 43 points, and Marist rounded out the top three with 129 points.

The Peacocks have some time off before making their way to Bethlehem, P.A., to compete in Lehigh's Paul Short Run on the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course, Friday, October 3rd. The first gun is set to go off at 9:30 a.m.
