Baseball Celebrates “Unofficial” Start to Season with First Pitch Luncheon

JERSEY CITY, NJ - Head baseball coach Lou Proietti celebrated the "unofficial" start of his inaugural season at the helm of the program on Sunday with the Annual First Pitch Luncheon. Members of the baseball team along with their parents, coaches and fans filled the Duncan Family Sky Room on the campus of Saint Peter's University one week before the team travels to Georgia for a three game series.

Coach Proietti gave a recap of the fall season, with an emphasis on his expectations for the team while creating a culture that his players can be proud of. Proietti also gave a brief preview of the 2020 spring season. The team begins the season in Georgia, facing Georgia Tech on Friday, Kennesaw State on Saturday and Georgia State on Sunday. Proietti ended his speech by announcing that senior Hunter Mason would serve as the team captain this season.
