JERSEY CITY, N.J.-- The Saint Peter's men's cross country team opened its season with a dual race matchup against the Knights of FDU at Jaroschak Field, Wednesday afternoon. In his rookie debut,
Earl Hart led the Peacocks' pack with a fifth-place finish, completing the course in 15:43.
FDU dominated the Peacock Invite, securing seven of the top ten finishes, with every Knight that raced recorded a new personal record in the 5k. On the podium was sophomore Chase Lopez with a time of 15:18, behind him was junior Trevor Ehrlicher (15:26), and in third was freshman Dylan Manning (15:28).
Saint Peter's was led by freshman
Earl Hart, who secured a top five finish in 15:43. Rounding out the top ten was fifth year
Gerardo Quaglia (15:54) and freshman
Sebastian Lopez (15:57). Rounding out the race for the Peacocks goes as follows:
Johan Aparicio (11th, 16:23),
Jack Cabrera (14th, 16:40),
Nicholaus Michael (15th, 16:57),
Christopher Hernandez (16th, 17:07),
Brian Yeager (18th, 18:23),
Kenneth Montes (19th, 18:40), and
Connor Ziolkowski (20th, 20:18).
The women's cross country team did not compete in the contest.

The men's cross country team will make their way up to Montgomery, N.Y., where they will race at Twin Ponds on the Farm for Manhattan's Jasper Fall XC Invite, Saturday, September 13. The first gun is set to go off at 9 a.m..
