JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball team travels to Connecticut where the squad faces Fairfield this Saturday, February 10th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm. Fans can follow the action live on ESPN+.
ABOUT SAINT PETER'S
In the Peacocks' last game against Quinnipiac, freshman forward Fatmata Janneh led the team in rebounding, grabbing a total of nine rebounds. Janneh also led the squad in points, tacking a total of 11 points and added nine rebounds and three steals. Freshman center Carys Roy posted nine points and six boards in the game.
Sophomore Jada Leonard currently leads the team in points, averaging 12.7 per game, while contributing 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per contest. Janneh leads the squad in rebounds with an average of 7.4 per game. She is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.4 per contest. Senior Rachel Kuhl leads the Peacocks with 27 three-pointers this season.
The squad has achieved multiple milestones so far this season. Freshman center Carys Roy achieved a new season and career high, scoring 26 points against Niagara. Against Rider, Jada Leonard secured 24 points as the lead scorer. She went 8-of-19 from the floor and had five steals.
ABOUT FAIRFIELD
The Fairfield Women's Basketball team enters the game with a record of 20-1 and receiving votes in the national poll. They are currently 12-0 in the MAAC.
In their last game against Marist, senior guard Jannelle Brown tallied her first double-double of the season. She tacked on 15 points and achieved a game-high of 10 assists that lead to the Stags win against Marist.
For the Stags, junior guard Kendall McGruder tied her career high for three-pointers, connecting on four of her five attempts from beyond the arc. In the third quarter, she made a perfect 3-for-3 from long range to aid the Stags in their 21-11 victory. With this win, Fairfield has won 20 games this year and 18 in a row, which is the second-longest active streak in the country.
Freshman forward Meghan Anderson leads the team in points per game with an average of 16.9. Anderson also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 5.2 per game.
THE SERIES
This is the 95th matchup in history between the Stags and the Peacocks since 1976-77. The Stags lead the series 54-40.

Following this game, the Peacocks will return home to Run Baby Run Arena where they will face Manhattan on Thursday, February 15th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
