Women's Basketball Set To Face The Quinnipiac Bobcats Thursday Night At Home

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball team returns home to Run Baby Run Arena to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats this Thursday, February 8th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm. Fans can follow the action live on ESPN+.

ABOUT SAINT PETER'S

In the Peacocks' last game against Canisius, freshman forward Fatmata Janneh led the team in rebounding, grabbing a total of eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Jada Leonard led the team in steals with a total of four. The Peacocks had a total of 25 rebounds and nine steals. 

Early in the first quarter, Janneh gave the Peacocks back-to-back jumpers to pull Saint Peter's even at 13. Senior guard Rachel Kuhl then followed with a shot from beyond the three-point arc. Leonard drained a late free throw to put the Peacocks in front 14-13 at the end of the first quarter. 

Keith scored back-to-back three-pointers at the close of the second quarter, and Kuhl added a three-pointer with four minutes remaining in the half to increase Saint Peter's lead to 26-21. 

The squad has achieved multiple milestones so far this season. Freshman center Carys Roy achieved a new season and career high, scoring 26 points against Niagara. Against Rider, Jada Leonard secured 24 points as the lead scorer. She went 8-of-19 from the floor and had five steals. Leonard currently leads the team in points, averaging 12.9 per game. 

ABOUT QUINNIPIAC
The Quinnipiac Women's Basketball team enters the game with a record of 9-11. They are currently 6-5 in the MAAC.

In their last game against Rider, freshman Anna Foley had a double-double, tacking 18 points and picking up 10 rebounds. Foley shot 53.8% from the floor. Junior forward Grace LaBarge tacked on 12 points and four rebounds. Off the bench, freshman guard Paige Girardi contributed 10 points of a 57.1% shooting percent.

Junior guard Jackie Grisdale leads the team in points per game with an average of 14.1. Foley leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.1 per game.

THE SERIES
This is the 21st matchup in history between the Bobcats and the Peacocks since 2013-14. The Bobcats have won all 20 match-ups during that span.

UP NEXT
Following this game, the Peacocks travel to Connecticut where the squad faces conference leader Fairfield on Saturday, February 10th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
