JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball team is set to host Iona at Run Baby Run Arena for their Play4Kay game this Saturday, February 17th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm. Fans can follow the action live on ESPN+.
ABOUT SAINT PETER'S
In the Peacocks' last game against Manhattan, senior guard Rachel Kuhl got the offense rolling with an early back-to-back three-pointers, finishing the game with five trifectas. Kuhl led the Peacocks in points, netting a season high with 24 to help pace Saint Peter's to a 61-55 home win in. Freshman center Carys Roy posted 11 points and nine rebounds.
Sophomore Jada Leonard currently leads the team in points, averaging 12.6 per game, while contributing 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals per contest. Leonard has a total of 264 points so far this season.
Janneh leads the squad in rebounds with an average of 7.5 per game. She is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.4 per contest. Senior Rachel Kuhl leads the Peacocks with 33 three-pointers this season.
This season, the team has already reached a number of significant milestones. Against Niagara, freshman center Carys Roy scored 26 points, setting a new season and career best. Jada Leonard led the team in scoring with 24 points against Rider, shooting 8 of 19 from the field and racking up five steals.
Janneh led the Peacocks in scoring against Iona with 28 points, going 5-of-9 from beyond the three-point arc. For Janneh, this was also a new high in her career. This season, Fatmata Janneh has recorded her eighth career double-double.
ABOUT IONA
The Iona Women's Basketball team enters the game with a record of 8-15 They are currently 3-11 in the MAAC.
In their last game against Rider, the Gaels fell in the final seconds 45-43 to the visiting Broncs. Iona was paced by sophomore Noa Givon, who scored a game-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shots. For the Maroon & Gold, she also recorded three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block. Sierra DeAngelo, a graduate student, finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block. Junior Judith Gomez grabbed eight rebounds in addition to her seven points.
DeAngelo leads the team in points per game with an average of 12.1. DeAngelo also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 6.0 per game.
THE SERIES
This is the 47th matchup in history between the Gaels and the Peacocks since 2001-02. The Gaels lead the series 29-17.

Following this game, the Peacocks hit the road as they travel to Lawrenceville, N.J. to take on Rider on Thursday, February 22nd. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
