Opening Word:
  • The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team will hit the road for a two-game swing in Buffalo, starting with a Thursday (Jan. 23) night matchup at Niagara. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
  • The Peacocks most recently dropped a 69-59 decision at Iona on January 20. Saint Peter's led at the half, 26-20, in that affair, but an offensive explosion from the Gaels in the second half saw Iona pull away with the win.
  • Monday's matchup marked the third consecutive outing in which redshirt junior Kendrea Williams led the Peacocks in scoring, putting up 20 points while also hitting four shots from beyond the arc. Briyanah Richardson and Gabrielle Harris also had double-digit performances against Iona, scoring 15 and 10, respectively.
Series with the Purple Eagles: 
  • The Peacocks and the Purple Eagles will meet for the 73rd contest between the two sides on Thursday, with Saint Peter's holding the all-time advantage with a record of 45-27.
  • The first matchup between Saint Peter's and Niagara came on March 12, 1980, when the Peacocks earned a 75-55 victory at home.
  • Saint Peter's will be looking for its first road win against Niagara since taking a narrow 59-55 win over its MAAC opponent on Jan. 2, 2011.

  • As of Jan. 22, Saint Peter's ranks second in the MAAC in steals (137), steals per game (9.1) and turnover margin (+2.87).
