Baseball Surrenders Two-Run Lead; Drops Final Game at George Washington on Sunday

The Peacocks fell 7-5 in the final contest of the weekend series

ARLINGTON, VA – After taking a 4-2 lead in the fourth inning, the Saint Peter's baseball team gave up five runs, relinquishing the lead and ultimately resulting in a 7-5 defeat to George Washington on Sunday. The Peacocks' season record drops to 0-3.
 
Game Notes
  • George Washington scored runs in the second and third innings as the Peacocks fell behind 2-0 after three innings.
  • In the top half of the fourth, the Peacocks put together their best inning of the season thus far, crossing home plate four times to take a 4-2 lead.
  • Peter Ferony got things going in the inning with a triple down the right field line.
  • A walk by Jared Quintero put runners on the corners for Jesse Matos, who singled through the right side for the season's first RBI as Ferony scored and Quintero advanced to third.
  • The next batter, Jared Paladino, followed with another single to right field, sending Quintero home and Matos to second.
  • After a pitching change by George Washington, Anthony Ramos hit a double down the left field line, clearing the bases and extending the Peacocks lead to 4-2.
