GAME NOTES

Opening Word:
  • The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team will finish up its three-game road trip against Howard University on Sunday. The opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium.
  • The Peacocks head into Sunday's game off an impressive 82-57 win over Coppin State on Friday in Baltimore.
  • Redshirt-junior Kendrea Williams led the way against the Eagles, finishing the contest with 23 points while knocking down seven shots from three-point range, including five in the first half alone.
History with the Bison:
  • The Peacocks hold the head-to-head advantage in the series against Howard, owning a 7-2 all-time record against the Bison.
  • The two squads first met back on Dec. 19, 1982, when the Saint Peter's took a 82-60 victory in Jersey City.
  • The Peacocks have only ever lost once while playing in Burr Gymnasium, falling 68-59 in their season opener on Nov. 21, 2004.
  • Sunday's meeting will be the first time the Peacocks and Bison have met on the court since Dec. 23, 2005, when Saint Peter's won 75-68 at the Yanitelli Center.
High-Powered Offense:
  • Through three games, the Peacocks have put up a league-best 260 points, averaging 86.7 per game.
  • The Peacocks have now scored more than 80 points in each of their past three contests. The last time the program scored 80+ in three consecutive games was in the 1996-97 season, when Saint Peter's posted 83, 87, and 80 against Fordham, Furman, and Howard, respectively.
  • The Nov. 15 win over Coppin State marked the second consecutive contest in which five different Peacocks scored in double-digits during Friday's game, with Williams (23), Yamel Abreu (15), Taiah Thornton (14), Briyanah Richardson (11), and Zoe Pero (10) accomplishing the feat against the Eagles.
Deep Threat:
  • Williams shot an impressive 7-11 from deep against Coppin State, and sat at 5-8 at the end of the first half.
  • The redshirt junior's seven made triples were just one shy of the school record, which was set back in 2013 by Bridget Whitfield.
  • Williams' 23 point performance is the most by the Piscataway native since joining the squad, and she's currently shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 48.3 percent from beyond the arc, while averaging 18 points per game.
Up Next:
  • The Peacocks return to Jersey City for their home opener against Morgan State on Nov. 26 for a 5 p.m. opening tip.
