JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Five Saint Peter's baseball players,
Ashby Vining,
Tyler DeClusin,
Garrett Greco,
Logan Baker and
Tyler Cotten, were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, CSC announced on Tuesday.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Baseball teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible.
Vining played in and started 47 games for the Peacocks, leading the team in home runs and tying the single-season program record with 10 homers. He accumulated 64 hits for eight doubles and 51 RBIs. As a catcher, Vining had 150 putouts and 29 assists while also ranking second in the MAAC with 20 runners caught stealing. He was named All-MAAC First Team.
DeClusin made 40 appearances throughout the season with 36 starts. In 138 at bats, he recorded 43 hits for six doubles and 16 RBIs. DeClusin finished the year with a .312 batting average and 83 putouts in the field.
Greco played in all 48 games for Saint Peter's, starting all but one. He recorded 57 hits, six doubles, a triple, a home run, 20 RBIs and 41 runs. Greco ranked third in the conference in stolen bases with 28. He also surpassed 100 career hits this year.
Baker played and started in 47 games for the Peacocks at shortstop and third base. In the field, he totaled 57 putouts and 120 assists. Baker had 48 hits in 175 at bats and finished the season 10 doubles, a homer and 24 RBIs.
Cotten played in 37 games on the diamond, starting in 32. He recorded 27 hits for five doubles, one triple, two homers and 23 RBIs. Cotten contributed 20 runs for Saint Peter's throughout the season.
