FAIRFIELD, Conn.- Saint Peter's Softball defeated Fairfield University, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Softball Field.
Game Recap
This was an efficient performance from beginning to end for the Peacocks. The pitching was spotless, and the team had just enough offense to secure a comfortable 3-0 win. In the second inning, Forte drove in all three of Saint Peter's runs with a bases-clearing double that put the Peacocks ahead of the Stags, 3-0. This was Forte's eighth game with three or more RBI.
That turned out to be all the offense the Peacocks needed to deliver the win. As a team, the Peacocks had seven hits. Sophomore
Olivia Christopher led the team with two hits. In the circle,
Ava White carried the Peacocks' defense with seven scoreless innings and two strikeouts.
Sunday marked Saint Peter's first series win in conference play this season. With the win, Saint Peter's moved up to a 12-31 record.
