BOSTON, MA – The Saint Peter's men's track and field team wrapped up the indoor season on a high note as
Delano Gooden sprinted to a silver medal in the 60m at the ECAC/IC4A Championships, held at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center.
The 60m final was a lightning-fast race, with the top three sprinters all finishing under 6.9 seconds and the top five clocking in under 7 seconds. Manhattan's
Darion Lopez secured gold with a time of 6.85, narrowly edging out Gooden, who finished just 0.02 seconds behind at 6.87. Vermont's
Alex Siaton claimed third place in 6.89.
Ameen Zubair, competing in his first ECAC Championships, finished ninth with a time of 7.08. The rest of the field saw FDU's
Xavier Hayletts in fourth (6.92), LIU's
Sage Primus in fifth (6.99), Binghamton's Marcus Nahim in sixth (7.01), Mount St. Mary's
Abdoulaye Bah in seventh (7.03), and Coppin State's
Cole Schlotterbeck in eighth (7.03).
With the indoor season officially in the books, the Peacocks turn their focus to the outdoor season, which kicks off in two weeks. They open the spring slate at home on Saturday, March 22, hosting the Peacock Relays at the Ronald L. Rice Sports Complex in Vailsburg Park, Newark, NJ.
