Women's Basketball Host Manhattan At Home Thursday

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball team returns home to Run Baby Run Arena where the squad takes on the Manhattan Jaspers this Thursday, February 15th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm. Fans can follow the action live on ESPN+.

ABOUT SAINT PETER'S
In the Peacocks' last game against Fairfield, graduate guard Mikia Keith led the way with 12 points, two rebounds and three steals, shooting 5-for-6 from the field. Sophomore guard Jada Leonard posted 10 points and three boards, while freshman forward Fatmata Janneh contributed six points and a team-best nine rebounds. 

Sophomore Jada Leonard currently leads the team in points, averaging 12.6 per game, while contributing 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per contest. Leonard has a total of 251 points so far this season. 

Janneh leads the squad in rebounds with an average of 7.5 per game. She is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.4 per contest. Senior Rachel Kuhl leads the Peacocks with 28 three-pointers this season. 

The squad has achieved multiple milestones so far this season. Freshman center Carys Roy achieved a new season and career high, scoring 26 points against Niagara. Against Rider, Jada Leonard secured 24 points as the lead scorer and went 8-of-19 from the floor and had five steals. 

Against Iona, Janneh was the leading scorer for the Peacocks with 28 points and was 5-of-9 from beyond the three point arc. This was also a new career-high for Janneh. Fatmata Janneh has secured a total of seventh career double-doubles this season. 

ABOUT MANHATTAN
The Manhattan Women's Basketball team enters the game with a record of 15-7 They are currently 8-5 in the MAAC. 

In their last game against Rider, senior forward Jade Blagrove was leading the offensive attack with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Sophomore guard Anne Bair contributed three assists, eight rebounds, and eleven points. Junior forward Petra Juric scored eight points and pulled down eleven rebounds.

Senior forward Ines Gimenez Monserrat leads the team in points per game with an average of 10.3. Juric leads the team in rebounds, averaging 8.2 per game. 

THE SERIES
This is the 102nd matchup in history between the Jaspers and the Peacocks since 1978-79. The Peacocks lead the series 54-47. 

UP NEXT
Following this game, the Peacocks will host the Iona Gaels at Run Baby Run Arena on Saturday, February 17th.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
