JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's Women's Soccer lost to Manhattan University, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Jaroschak Field.
Before the match, Saint Peter's honored six seniors with a ceremony:
Annabelle Adams,
Carlota Pastor Romero,
Gabrielle Saint-Jacques,
Kiana Tulloch,
Lula Mansilla Medina, and Mei Lei Garcia O'Neil. Unfortunately for the Peacocks, the hopes of a win or a scoreless draw were dashed by a 79
th-minute goal from Manhattan's Nicolette Caneda.
Prior to Manhattan's goal, it was a defensive battle. Manhattan did not have a shot on goal in the first half. The Jaspers ramped up the offensive intensity in the second half, which turned out to be enough to spoil Saint Peter's Senior Day ceremony.
Saint Peter's represented the seniors proudly with a competitive effort for 90 minutes. With Saturday's loss, the Peacocks dropped to 4-11-1 on the season.
