Box Score Newark, N.J.- The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team dropped a road game to the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Highlanders, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Game Notes
- NJIT had an early offensive explosion with a goal from Merle Hueser in the eighth minute.
- Nearly one minute later, NJIT tacked on its second goal. Gabby Zalot nailed the goal that put the Highlanders ahead by two goals, 2-0.
- Madison Taibl registered the third goal of the afternoon for NJIT.
- Zalot was involved in the first three scores.
- NJIT continued to pour on the scoring in the second half. Mikayla Balio registered the Highlanders' fourth goal of the game.
- Zalot added her second goal of the afternoon in the 53rd minute.
- In the first 20 minutes of the second half, Taty Schivel and Aleesha Deshmukh scored in consecutive minutes. Those two goals extended the lead to seven, 7-0.
- The Peacocks remained competitive in the first road game of the season.
