Baseball Caps Wild Comeback with Six Run Ninth Inning to Win in Walk-off

JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's University baseball senior Sam Haney (Lake Oswego, Ore.) drove in five runs, including clubbing his ninth homerun of the season to set the program single season mark, as the Peacocks capped a wild comeback with six runs in their final at-bat to win in walk-off fashion 13-12 over the Siena College Saints in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.

The Peacocks improve to 7-37 overall and 4-16 in the MAAC, while the Saints drop to 11-36 and 5-12 in conference play.

Siena built an 11-1 lead through their at-bat in the sixth. Senior Anthony Abbatine (Warwick, N.Y.) got the Peacocks slowly back into the game with a run scoring single in the sixth.

Saint Peter's added two runs in the seventh on a two-run single by junior Rece Stapp (Keller Texas) to close the gap to 11-4.

Siena added a run in the seventh but the Peacocks answered with a three-spot in their half of the inning. Haney blasted his record setting homerun in the inning, a three-run shot to cut the score to 12-7 heading to the ninth.
