JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's University baseball senior
Anthony Abbatine (Warwick, N.Y.) collected three hits as the Peacocks fell to Siena College 15-3 in eight innings to close out their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference three-game series.
The Peacocks fall to 7-38 overall and 4-17 in the MAAC, while the Saints improve to 12-36 and 6-12 in conference play.
Saint Peter's got on the board in the first inning as Abbatine drew a leadoff walk and eventually scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch.
Down 5-1 in the fifth, the Peacocks rallied back as Abbatatine singled to start the inning. Junior
Jack Eichler (Verona, N.J.) drove in Abbatine later in the inning on a sacrifice fly. Senior
Sam Haney (Lake Oswego, Ore.) restarted the rally with a single and scored later in the inning on a single by sophomore
Tyler Smith (Babylon, N.Y.) to close the gap to 5-3.
The Peacocks travel to NJIT for a non-conference game on Tuesday, May 9 at 6 pm.
