AMHERST, MA - The Saint Peter's women's basketball team lost to UMass on Monday night 56-44.
Despite the result, the first quarter finished at 16-11 in favor of the Minutewomen. Junior Forward Jada Williams started the season off with scoring a total of 4 points in the first quarter. She finished the game scoring 13 points and had eleven rebounds. She was the only Peacock to score and rebound double figures.
At half the Minutewomen led the Peacocks 26-17. Freshman guard Fatmata Janneh scores a 3-point goal following up with a layup in the third quarter. The Peacocks scored in double figures in the first, third and fourth quarters of the game.Â
Sophmore point guard Reilly Sunday advanced off of the bench for the first time playing as a Peacock, scoring nine points along with four rebounds. She played a total of 28 minutes.
