JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's volleyball team hosted the Rider Broncs at the Yanitelli Center on Saturday. The Peacocks fell three sets to one.
Match Notes
- Mackenzie Tucker led the Peacocks with 14 kills. Lilly Konrad distributed a season-high 28 assists.
- The Broncs took the first set 25-14. Rider jumped out to a 7-2 advantage and then took six out of seven consecutive points which built their lead to 15-6. The Broncs took the first set 25-14.
- The Peacocks answered back in the second set. SPU went on a 4-0 run which was highlighted by two consecutive kills from Skylee Nelson and a service ace from Sydney Kuzma. Both teams exchanged points as SPU led 22-18 in the final sequences of the second set. The Peacocks scored four of the last six points and won the second set 25-20.
- The Broncs won the first six points of the third set and maintained their lead as the Peacocks never led in the third set. Rider won the third set 25-14.
- In the fourth and final set the trailed 20-10. SPU won the next three consecutive points which featured a service ace from Lilly Konrad and a kill from Georgia Remmers. The Broncs scored four of the last seven points and closed out the fourth set 25-16.
Next, SPU hosts Iona on Saturday Oct. 28 and Manhattan on Oct. 29. Both matches start at 1PM and will be streamed on the Peacocks Digital Network.
