Volleyball Competes At Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CONN. - The Saint Peter's volleyball team finished it's road trip to Connecticut with a match on Sunday against Fairfield (13-5) at the Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Sunday. The Peacocks fell to the Stags three sets to none.

Match Notes

SPU freshman Crystal Nguyen and Evin Jordee hit double-digit marks. Nguyen hit 10 digs and Jordee passed for a team-high 10 assists.
Mackenzie Tucker led the Peacocks with 7 kills.
The Peacocks trailed 18-4 in the opening set. The Stags closed out the first set 25-7.
The second set was much closer as it featured six lead changes. When Fairfield led 16-13, SPU went on a 4-0 run that featured kills from Lilly Konrad and Tucker. The Peacocks led 22-20 in the set before the Stags took five of the last six points and won the second set 25-23.
Fairfield won the third set 25-11. The Stags won the first four consecutive points of the set and closed out the match on a 5-0 run. SPU freshman Savina Trujillo tallied her 11th service ace of the season.

Next, the Peacocks return home for a midweek nonconference match. SPU hosts NJIT at the Yanitelli Center on Wednesday, Oct. 18. The match starts at 7:00 PM and will be streamed on the Peacocks Digital Network.
