LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Saint Peter's women's volleyball lost in four sets against Rider on Saturday afternoon to open conference play.
The attack for the Peacocks was led by a trio of freshmen, as Elena Bilhartz, Ava Harmon, and Morgan Thurlow each had nine, eight, and eight kills, respectively.

The Peacocks won a thrilling first set by a score of 25-23. This counted as their first set victory of the year.

Freshman Ivanka Sikiric did her part in the first set, as the Peacocks scored seven points while she was serving, which included three aces.

The second set was all Rider, as the Broncs went on a 5-0 scoring run to end the second set by a score of 25-13.

A 9-0 run by the Broncs had Rider up early in the third set by a 12-5 score, but the Peacocks fought back thanks to Madison Somberg's serving ability. Saint Peter's tied it at 22 before Rider was able to close out the third set by a score of 25-23

The Peacocks responded with four straight points to open the fourth set, but the Broncs were able to string together another 9-0 run to end the match with a fourth set victory by a score of 25-18
