EASTON, PA - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team lost to Lafayette by a score of 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore midfielder Lula Mansilla Medina scored her first goal of the season and the team's first goal of the season in the loss.
Game Notes
- The Peacocks dominated early on, as they recorded two shots on target before getting on the scoreboard in the 14th minute courtesy of Mansilla Medina. She pounced on a loose ball in the box and had a clever finish to put Saint Peter's in front early.
- The Leopards tied the game in the 30th minute. The score would remain 1-1 at the break.
- For the third game in a row, the Peacocks surrendered a goal less than five minutes into the second half, as Lafayette took a 2-1 lead after a 46th minute goal.
- The Leopards added another in the 53rd minute.
- The Peacocks continued to push for a goal late, as senior forward Jazmin Brown had an attempt saved in the 81st minute. Lafayette would hold on to win 3-1.
Inside the Numbers
- Mansilla Medina scored her first goal of the season and her second as a Peacock.
- Graduate midfielder Skyler Owens and freshman forward Taylor Moyer each earned an assist.
- The Peacocks registered five shots, four of which were on target. Mansilla Medina, Moyer, junior defender Leslie Pineda, all recorded shots on target. Freshman defender Samantha Garcia also recorded a shot.

- We played the best 25-30mins I've seen this team play. We should have been 3-0 before half time. Seven minutes of switching off cost us the game today.
- Frustrating but again, a game they can learn from.
