How It Happened
- Saint Peter's got off to a fast start, striking in the first inning after junior infielder Sam Haney hit an RBI single to score graduate outfielder Tom Buckman, who reached base on a double.
- The Stags scored five in the second to open up a lead.
- Fairfield added two runs in the third and another in the fourth.
- Fairfield tacked on five more runs in the fifth.
- The Peacocks cut the deficit in the seventh. Freshman shortstop Nick Constantino recorded his first career RBI, senior catcher/pitcher Nick Font recorded his first RBI of the season, and junior infielder Mike Dipede recorded one as well.
- The Stags responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning.
- Fairfield sealed the deal in the eighth by scoring another run.
