How It Happened
- After only one hit in the first three innings, the Peacocks loaded the bases in the fourth but were unable to score.
- Iona scored two runs in the fourth.
- Saint Peter's tied things up in the sixth. Sophomore outfielder Collin Jensen and junior infielder Jeff Massicotte each scored unearned runs.
- The Gaels retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning, scoring three runs.
- Freshman outfielder Michael Pollard hit an RBI double in the seventh to cut the deficit to two. The Peacocks then proceeded to load the bases with one out, but were unable to score any more runs.
- With the bases loaded in the eighth, Pollard stood in the box and took a walk, adding another RBI to his total on the day. Jensen later hit a sacrifice fly in the inning and the Peacocks tied things up at five.
- Iona loaded the bases and scored two runs before getting an out in the eighth. They scored three runs in the inning.
