JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team lost to Fairfield 63-56 Tuesday afternoon at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT. Junior center Kassondra Brown led the team in scoring with 25 points, which was her career high. She also got nine rebounds.
Brown got her day started early for the Peacocks, scoring the first seven for the team and keeping them in the game, as the Stags got out to a hot start. Following Brown's run, graduate guard Kendrea Williams splashed a three from distance to cut Fairfield's lead to five. The Stags led 17-10 at the end of the first.
The Peacocks kicked off the second quarter by hitting back-to-back threes. Brown nailed the first and senior guard Tyara McQueen followed. Saint Peter's would claw their way back into the game, as they tied up the score at 28 with 3:11 left in the quarter. Williams grabbed a rebound off a Brown miss and layed it in. The Peacocks would take the lead on the next possession courtesy of Brown. The score was tied at 30 at the half.
The first four minutes of the second half were back and forth, with each team taking the lead from each other. The Peacocks got buckets from a collective of players, as senior guard Nickelle O'Neil, senior guard Kourtney Crane, Brown, and Williams all got into the scoring column. With ten seconds left in the quarter and the Peacocks down nine, senior guard Binta Salawu entered the scoring column for the first time with a deep three. Fairfield led 51-45 at the end of the third quarter.
Fairfield possessed a 5+ point lead for almost the entirety of the fourth quarter, with both sides trading baskets. The Peacocks only scored nine eleven points in the quarter. Brown squared up and hit a three from the left wing with 23 seconds left to trim the deficit to three, but the Stags converted at the free-throw line to hold on for the win.

- Williams was again in double figures, scoring 11 points. She also grabbed three rebounds.
- Crane was tasked with guarding the MAAC's leading scorer and she held her to only four first half points. She scored six points, grabbed five boards, and dished out four assists.
