JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team lost to Fairfield 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon. Fairfield scored the game-winning goal with 11 seconds left on the clock. Graduate defender Brooke Boutchie scored the Peacocks goal and freshman forward Alyssa Hackett provided the assist.
Game Notes
- After a quiet start on both sides, Fairfield recorded shots on goal in the 15th and 16th minutes that forced saves from freshman goalkeeper Olivia Mackethan.
- Graduate defender Fatou Doucoure had the Peacocks first shot on target, which came in the 20th minute. Her attempt was stopped.
- Fairfield turned up the pressure for the last 20 minutes of the half, but the Peacock defense held firm, as the score would remain 0-0 going into the break.
- The Stags came out and dominated the start of the second half. They were rewarded with a goal in the 60th minute.
- The Fairfield goal woke up the Peacocks, as Saint Peter's started to dictate the game following the allowed goal.
- The Peacocks converted in the 80th minute off a corner from Hackett. She played a curling ball into the box that found the head of Boutchie to tie things up at 1-1.
- Unfortunately for Saint Peter's that would not be the last goal of the game. With time winding down, Fairfield scored with 11 seconds left to take the game.

- Boutchie's goal was her first of the season and the fourth of her career.
- Hackett's assist was the second of her career.
- Saint Peter's recorded ten shots. Hackett led the team with three. Seven others each contributed one shot.
- The Peacocks generated seven shots on target. Hackett had two, while Boutchie, Doucoure, freshman defender Samantha Garcia, graduate midfielder Skyler Owens, and graduate midfielder Kinlee Bruns each had one.
- Mackethan made four saves.
