  • Lafayette struck back four minutes later to take a 2-1 lead.
  • The Leopards scored again in the 27th minute to take a 3-1 lead, which was the score at the break.
  • Junior defender Tom Climpson rose above everyone in the 83rd minute to get his head on a ball played in from senior midfielder Jamie Davis off of a free kick, but the Lafayette goalie made a great save.

Coach's Quotes - Julian Richens:

  • Tough game against a very organized and hard working team today. We're disappointed with the goals conceded today.
  • Delighted that Matt Ellis got his first goal today on a great pass from Matt Hoyt. He definitely has the ability to be a difference maker at this level once he gets fully used to the intensity of college soccer.
  • Over the next eight days, we are going to try and get the right balance between recovery and some good work on the training ground as we prepare for MAAC Conference play. I know the lads are looking forward to playing games with everything on the line.

Up Next:

  • The Peacocks open up Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play next Wednesday, September 29th, when they host Fairfield University with kick off scheduled for 2 p.m.
