NIAGARA FALLS, NY - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team lost to Niagara University by a score of 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Game Notes:

  • The Peacocks came out of the gates firing, and scored in the fourth minute, courtesy of freshman forward Julianna Jatkola off a beautiful long ball from senior midfielder Stephanie Radakovic. The goal gave the Peacocks their first lead of the season.
  • Niagara struck in the 28th minute to tie the game up at 1-1, and that score would stay the same going into the break.
  • Just after halftime, freshman goalie Annabelle Adams made a big save to keep the score deadlocked at one.
  • Niagara added two goals in two minutes in the 65th and 66th minutes to take a 3-1 lead.
  • Freshman midfielder Lula Mansilla Medina had an attempt on target saved in the 72nd minute.
  • Niagara added another goal late, scoring in the 79th minute to win 4-1.

Coach's Quotes: Julia Bazi
  • We played a fantastic first half, deservedly took the lead early on but unfortunately we let ourselves down in the second half. I'm hoping the team can learn and grow from their mistakes as we look forward to Marist next Sunday.

Up Next:

  • The Peacocks continue conference play on Sunday, September 26, as they travel to Poughkeepsie, New York to take on Marist, scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
