BETHLEHEM, P.A. – The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team lost to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks by a score of 84-68 Friday night in Stabler Arena. Graduate guard Kendrea Williams led the team with 18 points.
Both teams traded baskets in the early going. Junior center Kassondra Brown scored the first two buckets for Saint Peter's and gave them their first lead of the game at 4-2. Brown finished the quarter with six points. Senior guard Kourtney Crane was also dangerous in the quarter, scoring four points herself.
Senior guard Tyara McQueen provided a spark off of the bench in the second quarter as she scored seven points in four minutes for the Peacocks. Her effort helped trim the deficit to seven going into the break.banked in a jumper to get the Peacocks going in the second quarter.
Coming out of the half, Williams came alive for Saint Peter's. She scored ten points in the quarter, including two threes. As the quarter came to a close, she threw up a shot just inside the half-court line. The shot hit the backboard and rolled around the rim before finally dropping. That shot got the Peacocks within nine heading into the fourth quarter.
The Peacocks continued to fight hard down the stretch and didn't quit. Saint Peter's continued to attack the glass and play tough defense.. Despite the effort, they weren't able to generate enough stops, dropping the contest at Lehigh.
Top Peacock Performers
- Preseason All-MAAC Second Team selection Kendrea Williams led the way with a season-high 18 points for the Peacocks. She shot 8-of-15 (53%), while also shooting 2-of-7 behind the arc (29%).
- Brown scored a season-high 16 points, which was just two short of her career high. She also grabbed eight rebounds and added four assists.
- McQueen led the Peacocks off the bench, scoring a season high 12 points, which was also two short of her career high. She also added three rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Rachel Kuhl scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting (60%). She also added a steal.

- Saint Peter's shot 29-of-68 on the night (42%) while recording a 4-of-18 mark (22%) from downtown; the Peacocks went 6-of-10 (60%) at the free-throw line.
- The Peacocks scored 27 points off of 25 Lehigh turnovers.
- Saint Peter's was active on the boards, out rebounding the Mountain Hawks 35 to 30. 22 of those came on the offensive glass.
