The Saint Peter's University women's volleyball team continues Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play with its final two road games of the regular season, as the Peacocks visit upstate New York foes Siena and Marist. First serve on both Saturday and Sunday is set for 1 p.m.
Five Things to Know
- Saint Peter's was in action on Wednesday in Riverdale, battling Manhattan in a four-set defeat. Freshman Lily Barnhill had herself a night, setting new single-match highs in kills (11), points (11.5) and total blocks (1).
- Last Saturday night at home against Rider, senior Stephanie Rivera etched her name in the program record books after eclipsing 100 career blocks. She roared her way into the record books after a three-block (1 BS, 2 BA) performance in that match and now stands at 101 all-time total blocks at Saint Peter's.
- On the season, senior Alvarado continues to pace the Peacocks offensively with team-high set averages in kills (2.81) and points (3.13), while her hitting percentage ranks fourth on the team (.126). She ranks in the top-10 in the MAAC in in both kills/set and total points.
- Graduate student Wildalys Soto's 7.01 assists/set average is by far most on the team and ranks seventh in the MAAC, while defensively sophomore Alwen Pila leads the group averaging 3.84 digs/set (ninth/MAAC) and ranks second on the team among those with 100+ receptions with a .933 reception percentage. Her 18 aces are most on the team.
- On the block, rookie Suzzanne Bigelow is up to 44.0 blocks on the season while averaging a team-best 0.80 blocks per set.
