JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team beat Canisius College by a score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. Senior midfielder Stephanie Radakovic scored twice and senior defender Brooke Boutchie provided an assist. Freshman goalkeeper Annabelle Adams recorded her first career clean sheet.
Game Notes:
- Senior forward Mya Daniels recorded the first shot on target of the game in the 7th minute. She also tallied one in the 19th minute. Both shots were saved.
- The score would remain tied at zero at halftime.
- The Peacocks scored quickly out of halftime, as Radakovic pounced on a bouncing ball in the box off of a free kick from Boutchie.
- Canisius came down the other way after the kickoff to force freshman goalkeeper Annabelle Adams to make a save.
- Radakovic converted from the penalty spot in the 75th minute to double the Peacocks lead.
- Radakovic kept the pressure on, recording another shot on goal in the 80th minute.
- The Peacocks were able to hold off attacks from Canisius to close out the game and earn their second victory of the season.
Inside the Numbers:
- Radakovic's goals are her first two of the season. She now has three career goals. She became the first Peacock to score two goals in a game since October 24, 2018.
- Boutchie recorded her first assist of the season. It was the second of her career.
- Adams recorded her first career win and clean sheet in the victory. She made two saves during the game.
- The Peacocks registered 16 shots. Radakovic led the team with five. Boutchie, Daniels, and senior midfielder Skyler Owens also contributed two each.
- Saint Peter's put ten shots on target. Radakovic recorded five and Daniels had two.
- Sophomore defender Leslie Pineda and freshman defender Carlota Pastor Romero were issued yellow cards.
