JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team beat Siena College by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon. Senior midfielder and reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week Stephanie Radakovic scored right before halftime on an assist from senior midfielder Skyler Owens.
Game Notes:
- Siena came out on the attack to start the game. They registered three shots early, including one on target to force a save from freshman goalkeeper Annabelle Adams.
- Owens recorded the first Peacock shot on target in the 38th minute. Her attempt was saved.
- The Peacocks had three corners in succession after the Owens shot. Radakovic created a scoring chance off of one of the corners, but her attempt was stopped.
- Off of a long throw by Owens in the 43rd minute, Radakovic got her head on a bouncing ball inside the box, knocking the ball just over the goalies head to give the Peacocks a 1-0 lead.
- Adams made an incredible save just on the stroke of halftime, punching a high driven bar over the crossbar to keep Saint Peter's in front at the half.
- Out of halftime, Radakovic was issued a yellow card in the 49th minute. She would receive a second yellow and a red card in the 68th minute, forcing the Peacocks to play with ten players the rest of the game.
- Adams made two more saves in both the 77th and 78th minutes to keep the Peacocks in front.
- Saint Peter's was able to see the game out with ten players, winning their third and final game of the season.
Inside the Numbers:
- Radakovic's goal is her third of the season and her third in the last five days. She finishes her career with four goals as a Peacock.
- Owens recorded her first career in her final game as a Peacock.
- Adams recorded her second career win and clean sheet in the victory. She made four saves during the game.
- The Peacocks registered seven shots. Radakovic led the team with three.
- Saint Peter's put three shots on target. Radakovic recorded two and Owens added one.
- Freshman forward Julianna Jatkola recorded a yellow card. Radakovic was shown two yellows and ultimately, a red card.
- This is the first multi-game winning streak for Saint Peter's since the beginning of the 2019 season, when they started the season 3-0.
