Opening Word:
  • The Saint Peter's University women's basketball team will head across the Hudson this weekend to face off against Manhattan for the second time this season. Opening tip is set for 2 p.m.
  • The Peacocks are coming off a loss to defending MAAC champion Quinnipiac at home on Thursday night.
  • In that tilt, sophomore Briyanah Richardson had one of her most productive games of the season, scoring a team-high 21 points while also grabbing a team-high five rebounds.
  • Redshirt junior Taiah Thornton also contributed a double-digit performance against the Bobcats, dropping 14 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor.
History with the Jaspers: 
  • The Peacocks and the Jaspers will meet for the second time this season following the Jaspers' 85-52 win over the Peacocks on Jan. 9.
  • Following that match, the Saint Peter's all-time record against Manhattan now stands at 54-37 since the first meeting between the two sides on Feb. 24, 1979.   
  • The Peacocks will enter Saturday's game looking to break a 12-game losing streak against the Jaspers, having last won on Feb. 7, 2015 in Riverdale.
Top 20: 
  • Through 18 games of the 2019-20 season, two Peacocks have maintained top-20 positions in the nation in their respective categories.
  • Gabrielle Harris sits at ninth in the nation in free-throw percentage, as the redshirt junior currently holds a 90-percent success rate when going to the line. Additionally, Harris is the sole leader in the category among all MAAC players.
  • Kendrea Williams has also held her presence among the country's best three-point shooters, converting at 43.6 percent from deep, good for 18th among the country's best.
  • As a team, the Peacocks are still within the top-5 nationwide in free throw shooting, sitting at fourth among all Division I programs at 78.4 percent.
Up Next:
  • The Peacocks will have a four-day rest period before they host first-place Rider on Thursday, Feb. 6, in a 7 p.m. start at the Yanitelli Center.
