First Pitch
  • Saint Peter's will return to MAAC play with a weekend series at Marist.
  • Due to impending inclement weather, the series will now open on Friday, May 3 at Honey Field in Annandale-On-Hudson, NY with a 3 p.m. start time.
  • The teams will then head to McCann Baseball Field in Poughkeepsie, NY to conclude the series on Saturday, May 4 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Earlier in the week, Saint Peter's picked up its first walk-off win in six years, defeating Lehigh 8-6 in out of league play.
  • Hunter Mason ended the game with a two-run blast to left center field in the bottom of the ninth for the win.
  • Mason also earned the win on the mound in the game.
  • In addition to the pitching win, Mason was the best at the plate as well, going 3-for-5 with two homers, four RBIs, and three runs scored; Saint Peter's first multi home run game of the season.
  • The Peacocks have now doubled their win total from a season ago.
  • The Peacocks' first two wins of the season came against hOURglass rivals, Monmouth and Rider.
  • Last weekend, Saint Peter's earned its third win of the year in game three of a four-game series against Fairleigh Dickinson, winning 5-1.
  • On the season, Peter Ferony leads the team in batting average, total hits, RBIs, total bases and triples.
  • Hunter Mason is the team leader in doubles, runs scored and home runs.
 
Series History
  • Since the 1996 season, Saint Peter's and Marist have met 63 times previously.
  • Saint Peter's trails the all-time series 15-48.
  • The Red Foxes have won four straight dating back to 2016.
  • 2016 was also the last time Saint Peter's earned a victory and series win over Marist.
 
Scouting the Red Foxes
  • The Marist Red Foxes are 9-6 in MAAC games, currently ranked fifth coming down to the final weeks of the season.
  • Overall, the team is an even 21-21.

  • In Saint Peter's 8-6 win over Lehigh (May 1), junior Hunter Mason picked up a 2-for-1 win in the contest.
  • Mason earned the pitching decision after throwing 2.0 innings in relief in the eighth and ninth innings, while also hitting the winning walk-off home run in the game.
 
Walking Off
  • Hunter Mason's two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning against Lehigh (May 1) was the first of his career and the first for Saint Peter's in a little over six years.
  • The last Peacock walk-off came on April 28, 2013 against Manhattan in a 3-2 win in which Jon Kristoffersen hit a walk-off base hit to end the game.
 
Hitting Spree
  • In a 5-1 win over FDU (April 28), the Peacocks connected on a season-best 15 hits.
  • The 15 hits were the most in a single game by Saint Peter's since April 6, 2014.
  • 8 out of 9 Peacocks recorded at least one hit with 6 out of the 8 posting a multi-hit game.
 
Ending Rivalry Droughts
  • For the first time since the 2016 campaign, the Peacocks earned wins against both hOURglass Rivals, Monmouth and Rider in the same season.
  • Saint Peter's defeated Monmouth 3-0 (April 1) and Rider 7-6 (April 7) ending five and six game losing streaks respectively to its two New Jersey foes.
 
Peacocks Blank Monmouth
  • The Peacocks shutout rival Monmouth 3-0 on April 1.
  • The 3-0 shutout was the program's first shutout win since March 12, 2016 when the Peacocks knocked off Fordham 2-0.
  • The home win for Saint Peter's was the first for the program since defeating Monmouth 8-7 on April 10, 2016.
  • The Peacocks' defense completed five double plays, the most this season for the team, with the next highest total being two.

MAAC Preseason Polls
  • Canisius and Monmouth were named the preseason favorites in the coaches' poll, followed by Marist, Quinnipiac, Manhattan, Fairfield, Siena, Niagara, Rider, Iona, and the Peacocks.
 
About the Coach
  • Danny Ramirez enters his third season as the baseball head coach at Saint Peter's in 2018-19.
  • In year number two, Ramirez led the Peacocks to a win over MAAC playoff qualifier Siena and a 7-1 blowout win over Iona for the program's largest margin of victory in over three years and largest MAAC margin of victory in four years.
  • His ace, Willie Krajnik, became the first player under Ramirez to earn all-league honors, being selected to the All-MAAC Second team.
  • Over his two seasons as the skipper, Ramirez has guided 15 student-athletes to MAAC All-Academic honors.
