Women’s Basketball Closes Out the Season Falling to Manhattan

The Peacocks lost to Manhattan, 62-41, in the first round of the MAAC Championships.

ALBANY, NY- The Saint Peter's women's basketball team fell to Manhattan, 62-41, in the first round of the MAAC Championship on Thursday afternoon.

Game Notes vs. Manhattan:

Manhattan started the game off scoring the first seven points, taking the lead 7-0.
Wil'lisha Jackson scored the first seven points for the Peacocks, with the team still trailing 11-7.
Sammy Lochner made a 3-pointer in the final two minutes of the quarter, putting the Peacocks behind 15-12.
In the second quarter, the Jaspers scored 16 straight points to extend their lead to 31-12.
The Peacocks scored their first basket at the 2:49 mark off of Cinnamon Dockery's two made free throws, trailing 31-14.
Lochner scored her second 3-pointer of the half in the last 18 seconds, cutting the Jaspers lead to 34-19 going into halftime.
The Peacocks double their scoring in the third quarter, finishing with 14 points, the team's most points in a quarter in the game.
Despite the 14 points, the Peacocks still trailed Manhattan 52-33 going into the fourth quarter.
In the final quarter, Saint Peter's scored eight points to close out the game.
