JERSEY CITY, NJ- The Saint Peter's women's basketball team fell to Iona, 58-53 at home on Thursday night in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.
Wil'lisha Jackson finished with a team-high, 15 points.
Tyara McQueen poured in a career-high 14 points on her birthday against the Gaels.

Game Notes vs. Iona:
- The Gaels opened up the game with a 3-pointer in the first eight seconds.
- Wil'lisha Jackson scored six straight points for the Peacocks, tying the score 8-8 at the 5:20 mark.
- In the final four seconds of the quarter, Tyara McQueen hit a layup, to pull within one of the Gaels 15-14.
- In the second quarter, McQueen sank an early three, tying the score 17-17.
- Midway through the quarter, the Peacocks only trailed by two points after a layup from Zoe Pero, 23-21.
- In the final 43 seconds, Cinnamon Dockery finished a layup, tying the score 23-23 going into halftime.
- In the third quarter, Iona took their largest lead at six points, at the 6:41 mark, 32-26.
- In the final two minutes of the quarter, McQueen hit a 3-pointer followed by two free throws from Pero to trail Iona 39-33 at the end of the third.
- Dockery opened up the fourth quarter, with a layup drawing the foul for the extra point, bringing the Peacocks within three points, 41-38.
- Iona immediately responded by making a 3-point shot, stretching their lead back to six points, 44-38.
- Towards the end of the quarter, Jackson scored another six straight points, 53-49.
- In the final 31 seconds, Sammy Lochner hit two free throws, closing in on Iona's lead 54-51.
- McQueen finished a layup right after a timeout to pull to within three points.
- The Peacocks could not finish it off in the final seconds, falling 58-53 to Iona.
