Niagara Downs Women’s Basketball at Home on Thursday Night

The Peacocks lost to the Purple Eagles at home, 75-66

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's women's basketball team (5-9, 0-3 MAAC) fell to Niagara (6-9, 2-1 MAAC) at the Yanitelli Center on Thursday night. Briyanah Richardson finished with a team high of 20 points in the 75-66 loss.

Game Notes vs. Niagara:
  • Richardson opened the game for the Peacocks with a layup and drawing a foul for the extra point.
  • In the second quarter, Tyara McQueen knocked down eight straight points to bring the score to 33-27 with 3:55 left in the half.
  • D'Aviyon Magazine closed the first half with a three to make the score of 46-30 in favor of Niagara going into halftime.
  • Coming out of the break, Richardson added six straight points for the Peacocks, scoring a three and getting the and-one on a layup.
  • Magazine went 4-4 from the free throw line to close the third quarter.
  • In the final quarter, Richardson scored a layup at the 5:30 mark, giving Niagara their smallest lead of the quarter at eight points.
  • The Peacocks' final push came up short, falling to the Purple Eagles, 75-66.

  • Richardson led the Peacocks in scoring with 20 points and dishing out five assists.
  • Magazine added 15 points for the team, and was perfect from the charity stripe, going 4-4.
  • McQueen notched a career high 10 points going 4-6 from the field with two 3-pointers, while also grabbing four rebounds.
  • Zoe Pero added a team high of eight rebounds to go along with nine points.
  • Precious Featherson and Cinnamon Dockery both grabbed six rebounds.
  • Dockery also added a team high of three steals against the Purple Eagles.
