Women’s Soccer Falls in Home-Opener to Sacred Heart

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Saint Peter's women's soccer team played their first home game of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Lincoln Turf Field. The Peacocks battled with Sacred Heart but ultimately fell 6-0 in the match.
 
Game Notes

• Sacred Heart scored four goals in the first half at the marks of 8, 26, 28, and 41 minutes.
• In the second half, the Pioneers added two more goals in the 58th and 64th minutes.

Inside the Numbers

• Freshman Kinlee Bruns led the Peacocks with two shots in the game.
• Brooke Boutchie, Alexandria Couto, Barbara Paiva, Kelsey Nugent, and Jessica Auvil each added one shot.  
• The Peacocks' keepers combined to make 10 saves in the game.
• Sophomore Victoria Scarratt got the start and made eight saves in the first half, while freshman Emma O'Sullivan played the final 45 minutes of the game a stopped two shots.

• The Peacocks begin conference play on Saturday, September 15 at home for a date with Canisius. The game is set to start at noon.
