PISCATAWAY, NJ– The Saint Peter's track and field programs competed in the Outdoor ECAC/IC4A Championships at Bauer Track and Field Complex Saturday afternoon.
The top eight advance to tomorrows finals; first place in each heat plus next three fastest times.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
In the men's 100m prelims,
Niles Thony and
Ameen Zubair competed, with Thony finishing 13th in 10.81 and Zubair 16th (10.86) out of 32 athletes. Moving to the finals, Rutgers' Daniel Duncan claimed the top spot with a time of 10.24.
Favour Owolabi was the highest placed track runner of the day for Saint Peter's, finishing in the top ten in the 400m, in a season best time of 48.27, placing ninth.
Ajani Peck-Wekunda finished 12th in 49.17, a personal best, followed by
Neo Clark-Tabb (50.03, 22nd),
Connor Ziolkowski (50.33, 29th), and
Michael Odins (50.39, 31st).
Duquesne's Nick Keller took first in a personal best of 47.17.
Brian Yeager and
Michael Amaker competed in the 800m with Yeager claiming 19th in 1:56.74, a season best, while Amaker finished 32nd (1:58.64). FDU's Chase Lopez claimed first in 1:51.38.
Gerardo Quaglia hit a new season best in the 1500m with a time of 4:09.26, for 29th overall.
Amari Campbell secured a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 7.29m (23-11.00). Rutgers Sincere Robinson took home first with a distance of 8.13m (26-08.25), the only mark to surpass the eight-meter mark.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Karilynn Jimenez and
Shanelle Vilson raced the 100m prelims, with Jimenez finishing in 12.08 for 13th, while Vilson placed 24th in 12.40. Rutgers Naylah Jones secured the top spot in the finals with a time of 11.58.
Dezoara Diaz was the sole Peacock competing in the 400m, finishing in a personal best time of 1:00.61. Rutgers Success Duruzor claimed gold with a season-best time of 54.64–the only sub-55 time.
Mercedes Cruz-Fletcher and
Adriana Rollins toed the line in the 100m hurdles, with Cruz-Fletcher finishing in 14.99 for 30th and Rollins placing 36th in 15.34. Rutgers Llyric Driscoll claimed the top spot for the finals in 13.54.
