JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Each year, Saint Peter's University recognizes the academic achievements of undergraduate students at the Michaelmas Convocation. The honorees at Michaelmas include students who have been awarded Excellence Medals for the previous academic year, seniors whose academic rank in class qualifies them for admission to the Most Noble Order of the Peacock (MNOP), undergraduate award and those who have been named to the Dean's List.
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, students, faculty, staff and guests opened the academic year and celebrated student achievement with the 2025 Michaelmas Convocation. This year's keynote speaker, Edward Hahn Jr., M.D. '04, is Chief of the Division of Emergency Trauma in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center.
The following Saint Peter's student-athletes won awards at the Michaelmas Convocation:
Jeffery Yong (GOLF) - Gold Medal for Frank J. Guarini School of Business
Steph Bendzlowicz (SB) - Gold Medal for Caulfield School of Education
Lex Vaughan and
Tim Strele (MSOC) - Most Noble Order of the Peacock (MNOP)
Valeria Pagan Munoz (VB) - Gold Medal for College of Arts and Sciences
Kenneth Montes (XC/TF) - The Sofia Grace Michaelmas Award
