NEWARK, N.J. – The Saint Peter's volleyball team is all set to take on NJIT on the road on Monday night at the WEC. The Peacocks (1-2) and Highlanders (1-2), who both share the same record early into the season, are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET
The Peacocks are coming off a solid weekend at the Holly Young Invitational in Durham, N.H. They finished 1-2, but took a very talented New Hampshire team to a full five sets before picking up their first win of the season against Holy Cross.
Saint Peter's was led by
Valeria Pagan Munoz,
Indira T. Benitez Dumeng and
Sibana González Acevedo on the offensive attack as they each recorded at least 34 kills throughout the three matches.
Alondra Fargas also had a great showing over the weekend, totaling 87 assists and 26 digs. She was named to the Holly Young Invitational All-Tournament Team for her performance.
ABOUT THE NJIT HIGHLANDERS
The Highlanders opened up their season with losses to Boston College and Iona before notching their first win against Stonehill. In its first three matches, NJIT has been led by Emma Wild, Mariana Cova and Martina Gonzalo Cortes. The three have combined for 81 kills, with Wild leading the bunch with 29, followed by Cova with 27 and Gonzalo Cortes with 25. The NJIT setter Finley McAndrew has impressed as well, thus far, recording 75 assists and 38 digs.
NJIT is coached by Pedro Trevino who is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Highlanders.

The Peacocks are 6-19 all-time vs. the Highlanders and 1-8 against them on the road…last season, Saint Peter's broke its losing streak with a win over NJIT in the season opener…the only other time the Peacocks have won consecutive matches against NJIT came in 2014-2015.
