JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's baseball team fell, 6-11, to Siena at Jaroschak Field Thursday afternoon after jumping out to a slow start early.
The Peacocks (8-24, 4-11 MAAC) started to make a push in the eighth inning, scoring four runs on the Saints (12-22, 8-8 MAAC) but it wasn't enough as SPU fell by five.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Peacocks found themselves trailing, 1-5, early into the game heading into the top of the third inning.
Alex Rakas helped Saint Peter's get on the board with a double to right field that advanced Baker home from second base.
In the top of the fourth, the Saints extended their lead to 8-1 with three more runs. That score remained the same until the sixth inning when
Logan Baker doubled to bring
Tyler DeClusin home, making it 2-8.
Siena added to its six-run lead with three more runs in the seventh and eighth innings. The Peacocks showed some life in the bottom of the eighth, scoring four runs with the help of a Siena error.

Sean Martinez, DeClusin and Baker were the four Saint Peter's players to make it home plate.
Both teams went scoreless in the final innings as the Saint took game one of the series, 11-6.

The Peacocks will play Siena again tomorrow, Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET before the final game of the series takes place on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
