JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's volleyball team (7-18, 2-12 MAAC) takes off for its final road trip of the regular season this weekend with matches at Quinnipiac (15-11, 12-2 MAAC) and Merrimack (7-16, 5-9 MAAC).
The Peacocks are set to play the Bobcats at Burt Kahn Court on Friday at 5 p.m. ET. They will then play the Warriors at Hammel Court on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Saint Peter's split their games last week against Canisius and Niagara, taking down the Golden Griffs in a five-set reverse sweep.
Indira T. Benitez Dumeng led the way for SPU as she racked up 15 kills, six digs and two blocks.
Valeria Pagan Munoz had a solid outing against Canisius as well, finishing the match with 14 kills, seven digs and two blocks.
Against Niagara, the Peacocks fell behind early in each set, which forced them to claw back each time. Saint Peter's extended the third and final set to extra points, but the Purple Eagles pulled out the victory.
ABOUT THE QUINNIPIAC BOBCATS
The Bobcats are ranked second in the MAAC, losing just two games to Fairfield and Niagara. In Jersey City, Quinnipiac took down Saint Peter's in four sets. Elena Giacomini and Yagmur Gunes lead the Bobcats on offense, both ranking in the top three of the MAAC in kills per set.
Quinnipiac is coached by Kyle Robinson, who is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Bobcats.
ABOUT THE MERRIMACK WARRIORS
The Warriors sit two spots ahead of the Peacocks with five conference wins this season. They are currently on a two-game winning streak after taking down Manhattan in four sets and Iona in a sweep. Mckenna Shotwell has the most kills on the team with 214. She also leads the team in service aces with 33, which ranks fifth in the MAAC.
Merrimack is coached by Ken Nichols, who is in his second season as the head coach of the Warriors.
