JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's men's soccer team (4-9-2, 2-6-1 MAAC) fell to Siena (7-5-4, 6-1-3 MAAC) by a final score of 0-2 on Saturday afternoon at Jaroschak Field. Despite the result, Saint Peter's held a nice celebration for former Peacock Mike Granelli Jr. before the start of the match.
The Peacocks and Saints were in a hard-fought battle over the first 45 minutes of the game on a sunny afternoon in Jersey City, but it was Siena who was on top at halftime. The Saints were able to score a goal in the 43rd minute to break the 0-0 tie at Jaroschak Field. Saint Peter's had several chances to score in the first half and even outshot Siena nine to seven.
In the second half, it was more of the same, but Siena's second goal came at the beginning of the half instead of the end. After going up 2-0, the Saints were able to focus on defense and record a shutout.
Despite letting in two goals,
