Hartford, Conn.- Saint Peter's Baseball fell to Quinnipiac University, 9-4, at Fiondella Field on Saturday afternoon.
Game Notes
- The Peacocks scored four runs on 11 hits in the game. The Bobcats had 14 hits.
- Saint Peter's scored two runs in the top of the first inning. Tyler Smith delivered a two-RBI triple that scored Ashby Vining and Logan Baker. Quinnipiac cut the deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the first.
- Garrett Greco went 3-5 at the plate with Smith tallied a team-high three RBIs. John Son went 2-3 at the plate with one RBI.
- QU scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, three in the bottom of the sixth inning, and two in the bottom of the seventh inning.
- In the bottom of the sixth inning, QU's Christopher Willis hit a two-RBI triple and Quinnipiac led 7-2. A two-RBI triple from James Marino extended the score to 9-2.
- Saint Peter's Son hit an RBI single to right field for Saint Peter's third run. Greco scored from third on a groundout for the Peacocks' fourth run.
- QU pitcher Matt Alduino (4.0 IP, five hits, one run, one earned run, two walks, three strikeouts) picked up the win on the mound.
Saint Peter's will open up the final series of the season against Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, May 16 at 3 p.m. at Jaroschak Field.
