Jersey City, N.J.- Saint Peter's Baseball faced Lehigh University in a doubleheader on Saturday. The team split the doubleheader by winning the first game and losing the second game.
Game 1 Notes
- In Game 1, Saint Peter's held on for a 3-2 win over Lehigh.
- It was a competitive game where the two teams were tied 2-2 after the third inning and Saint Peter's won on a RBI single down the left field line by Tyler Cotten.
- Tyler Smith also contributed the two other RBIs in the win.
- John Wade earned the win as a reliever for Saint Peter's.
Game 2 Notes
- Offense played a major role in the second game as Lehigh completed an 18-8 win over Saint Peter's.
- Heading into the top of the seventh, Saint Peter's trailed by two runs, 9-7, but Lehigh poured on the scoring with a nine-run inning.
- That deficit was too much for the Peacocks to overcome.
- With the doubleheader split, Saint Peter's moved to 5-15 on the season.
On Sunday, Saint Peter's will close out its series at Lehigh for the final game of the four-game series.
