Box Score NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball team fell short to the Niagara Purple Eagles on Thursday night by a score of 85-51. Freshman center Carys Roy netted a new career high with 26 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Roy sparked the Peacocks offense, totaling 13 points over the first 20 minutes of play. Roy finished the game, shooting 11-of-15 from the floor. She pulled down 10 rebounds securing her second career double-double.
During the first quarter, graduate student Maya Hyacienth and graduate student Mikia Keith both shot beyond the three-point arc giving the Peacocks back-to-back three-pointers. Roy totaled six points in the first quarter but the Purple Eagles led 16-13.
Sophomore guard Jada Leonard scored a layup assisted by sophomore guard Reilly Sunday early on in the second quarter. Roy shot 6-of-9 from the floor in the first half to lead the Peacocks.
Roy had three straight layups to pace the Saint Peter's offense early in the second half. Freshman forward Fatmata Janneh had a jumper contributing two points to the squad, while senior guard Rachel Kuhl added a triple in the third quarter. Saint Peter's battled down the stretch but fell short.
The Peacocks had a total of 31 rebounds and seven steals. The squad shot 40.4% from the floor.

The Peacocks travel to Buffalo where the squad takes on Canisius. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm on Saturday, February 3rd. The game will be available to watch on ESPN+.
