JERSEY CITY. N.J.- Saint Peter's University men's basketball sophomore
Armoni Zeigler dropped in 18 points as the Peacocks dropped their conference opener 70-67 to Manhattan University.
The Peacocks fall to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in the MAAC while the Jaspers improve to 4-4 and 1-0 in conference play.

Marcus Randolph. The Jaspers pulled even at 20 midway through the half, taking a two-point lead. The Peacocks went on an 11-2 run with six points from Zeigler and Randolph capping the run with a triple to put Saint Peter's ahead 31-24. Manhattan closed to gap to 38-35 at halftime.
The Peacocks pushed ahead by as much seven points in the second half at 50-43 with 13:49 left in the game. The Jaspers scored eight straight points to take a one-point lead mid-way through the second half. The teams traded points over the next six minutes with Manhattan holding a 61-60 lead with just over minutes to play.
Both teams went cold offensively with neither team scoring for over three minutes. Manhattan connected on nine free throws over the final 1:01 to hold off the Peacocks down the stretch.
Zeigler led the way with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Randolph shot 3-for-8 from downtown, totaling 13 points, three boards, four assists and two steals. Eaton added 12 points
The Peacocks continue conference play as they travel to Iona on Sunday, December 8 for a 1 pm tip. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
