Box Score BRONX,N.Y.- The Saint Peter's Women's Basketball program fell to Fordham by a score of 64-56 on Friday night. Sophomore forward Fatmata Janneh was the lead scorer for the Peacocks tacking on a total of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Layla Laws contributed 13 points to the squad.
WHAT HAPPENED
During the first quarter, sophomore forward Fatmata Janneh opened up with back-to-back layups for the Peacocks. Redshirt sophomore Nikola Zdenkova followed up by shooting a jumper with Janneh's assistance. Sophomore guard Emily O'Connell contributed two points to the squad with a driving layup. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 12-10 Rams.
To get the Peacocks started in the second quarter, senior forward Layla Laws connected a pair of free throws, followed by a drive to the basket. Janneh and freshman forward De'Naya Rippey contributed to the squad, each adding two points to the board. Laws and Janneh had eight points each at the end of the second half. At half the score was 38-27 Rams.
Saint Peter's opened the second half with a strong start, Janneh quickly tipped the ball and followed with a layup. Graduate forward Laila Grant and Janneh took a shot beyond the three-point arc. To end the third quarter both Zdenkova and Janneh hit a triple. Janneh finished the third quarter with 28 points and five rebounds.
In the Peacock's final stretch, Janneh had a jumper. Junior forward Louella Allana drove to the basket contributing two points to the squad. Laws and Janneh both had a driving layup. The Rams answered with a free throw to extend their lead but held off a Peacock rally down the stretch.

Next, the Peacocks travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia, where the squad takes on JMU The match-up will take place on Wednesday, November 20th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
